Our Christian Book Study Group meets Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. This group meets weekly to discuss the assigned chapters of the book we currently have decided to read and discuss together. We try to choose books to read together that challenge us to dig deeper, ask hard questions, and follow Jesus more closely. We try to read a variety of authors from various Christian traditions making space for differing views from both the authors we read and one another.
What we are reading now...
We are currently reading "The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming" by Henri Nouwen. In seizing the inspiration that came to him through Rembrandt's depiction of the Prodigal Son story told by Jesus, Henri Nouwen probes several movements of the parable: the younger son's return, the father's restoration of sonship, the elder son's vengefulness, and the father's compassion. In his reflection on Rembrandt in light of his own life journey, the author evokes a powerful drama of the parable in a rich, captivating way that is sure to reverberate in the hearts of readers.
Because our Small Groups often meet in homes, we would like to ask that you please fill out the contact form if you need directions to where we are meeting and we will get back with you. Our Christian Book Study Group meets Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm.
